About Michael Chu:
I've lived in Santa Monica my whole life, and I've gone through Grant Elementary, John Adams Middle School, and now I am in my senior year at Santa Monica High School. I'm apart of SAMOHI's marching band and theatre program, as well as, of course, its Project Lead the Way program. This being the culmination of the past 3 years of engineering courses, I am excited to apply all that I have learned into this capstone course and to work with the students who I've spent these past 3 years working with.

Engineering Aspirations
Despite my being in a 4-year engineering program, I have aspirations to be a theatre technician. Though the connection may not be obvious, there is still a lot of overlap between engineering and technical theatre. Freshman year taught me to design and build various contraptions. Sophomore year taught me the real life calculations for trusses and weights. Junior year taught me circuitry required for basic wiring. From my senior year, I am hoping to gain more real world experience in working and communicating with people, as well as getting experience with building something more physical.
